What does 24-hour nursing at home actually mean?
Two DHA-licensed nurses on a 12-hour rotation, working from one doctor-signed care plan and one set of notes. The shifts hand over face to face, so nothing is lost between them, and someone is on duty at every hour of the day and night.
Is the nurse awake all night, or sleeping in?
Awake and on duty. The night nurse works a full twelve-hour shift, gives the medicines on time, watches the vitals and writes up the night for the day nurse and the family.
How much does 24-hour nursing cost?
It is quoted in writing after the home assessment, on an hourly basis that starts at AED 100 an hour. The assessment is AED 250 and comes off your first invoice. Medicines, dressings and supplies are itemised at cost. Home healthcare in the UAE is paid by you directly.
We are coming home after a cardiac or cancer admission. Can you take that?
Yes. Send us the discharge summary and we build the plan on it and quote on it. For complex discharges a doctor visits on day one alongside the nurse, and the same doctor stays on the file.
Can we start with 24-hour cover and cut back later?
That is the usual path. Most families start round the clock for the risky weeks, then step down to nights only, then to a few hours a day. The plan is reviewed every week and you only pay for the hours you keep.
