Chronic illness nurse at home in Dubai: a DHA-licensed nurse who joins the long-term care plan for the parts a carer cannot do, insulin, IV antibiotics, complex wounds, tube feeding, catheter care and dialysis days. This is not a one-off nurse visit and it is not a full 24-hour nursing plan on its own: it is the nurse tier sitting inside chronic disease care, on the same file, with the same consultant's targets. The rate is a little higher than the AED 75 an hour Care Companion, quoted in writing after the free home visit.

What needs a nurse?
When you need the nurse tier, and when you need something else.
One visit for one procedure is Nurse on Call. A daily routine with no clinical work in it is a Care Companion. This is the middle: a long-term plan with nurse work inside it.

How much does a chronic illness nurse at home cost?
It is quoted in writing after the free home visit. The DHA-licensed nurse tier is a little higher per hour than the AED 75 Care Companion rate, on the same plan. Twelve-hour, 24-hour and live-in cover are quoted the same way, and the hourly rate comes down on long-term plans.
How is this different from a one-off nurse visit?
Nurse on Call is one visit for one job, an injection, a drip or a dressing you already have, from AED 250. This is the nurse tier inside a long-term chronic-care plan: the same nurse comes back, your consultant's targets are on the file, and there are notes after every shift.
What can the nurse do that a Care Companion cannot?
Insulin, IV antibiotics, complex wound care, tube feeding and dialysis-day cover. A Care Companion (CNA + BLS) is a trained carer, not a nurse: vitals, medicine reminders, glucose logs, mobility, dressings within scope and company.
Can we mix the two tiers on one plan?
Yes, and most families do. The Care Companion runs the daily routine at AED 75 an hour and the nurse comes in for the clinical work at the nurse rate. One plan, one file, one invoice, and you always know which of them is coming.
Does insurance pay?
No. Home healthcare in the UAE is paid by you directly. We do not bill insurers. Both rates are confirmed in writing before any care begins.
