How much does diabetes care at home cost?
A Care Companion (CNA + BLS), a trained carer, not a nurse, is AED 75 an hour with a four-hour minimum. Insulin, IV antibiotics and complex wounds need a DHA-licensed nurse, a little higher on the same plan, quoted in writing after the free home assessment.
Can the Care Companion give my insulin?
No. Insulin is given by a DHA-licensed nurse. The Care Companion checks the sugar, writes the log, gives the medicine reminders, looks at the feet and watches for lows. The free visit decides which tier you need and we tell you plainly.
How often will the sugar be checked?
At the times your treating doctor set: before meals, at bedtime, or whatever the plan says. Every reading goes in one log the family can read, and a doctor on standby reads the chart each week.
Can you take the HbA1c blood test at home too?
Yes. A nurse takes HbA1c, kidney and cholesterol bloods at your address and the report comes back doctor-reviewed. It sits on the same file as the daily sugar log, so the doctor sees both together.
Does insurance pay?
No. Home healthcare in the UAE is paid by you directly. We do not bill insurers. The price is confirmed in writing before we start.
